We’re excited to announce the development of our new tree nursery initiative, supporting TWP’s mission to establish woodlands across Tayside for habitat restoration and carbon sequestration.

Current Status
- Total area: 375 square meters
- Completed: 2m × 3m tool shed installation
- In progress: Construction of 4m × 5m wooden potting shed
This nursery will serve as a vital resource in our ongoing efforts to meet our goal of establishing at least 10 hectares of community woodlands by 2033. By growing our own saplings, we’ll ensure a sustainable supply of native species for future planting events at sites like Alastair’s Wood and Black Spout.

The nursery will not only provide trees for our carbon sequestration goals but also create opportunities for community involvement, education, and practical training in woodland establishment techniques.
We are deeply grateful for the generous support provided by the Perth and Kinross Council Nature Restoration Fund, without which this project would not be possible. Their commitment to environmental initiatives has been instrumental in bringing this tree nursery to life.
We also extend our sincere thanks to studioEAST Architects for their expertise in drawing up the plans for planning permission. Their professional guidance has been invaluable to the project.
We look forward to sharing updates as this project develops into a thriving hub for woodland creation across the Tayside region.
